What Is Yoga to you?
To me Yoga is a practice I choose for my mind, body & Soul. Yoga is a great strength training exercise, a mindful exercise, a great place to clear your mind and is absolutely amazing for your flexibility and mobility. I do yoga to help keep me limber, so I do not feel the stress of life in my muscles and joints. I do it to clear my head, an hour of not talking, a quiet room where all you here is the instructor and or music. I do it because it makes me feel great, it makes me look great; posture, skin & body! The relaxed, everlasting happy feeling that floats around the room, a room filled with positive energy just carries on with you through out your day and throughout your life.
Yoga has been a part of my life for over ten years now. I first started doing yoga when I was 14. I always loved to stretch in the sauna and when I first heard about hot yoga, I thought … what a great Idea I am going to do my yoga exercises in the sauna…. and so I started. After every workout for 2 years I would practice my yoga in the sauna. Then I tried P-90-X yoga, wow that blew my mind! I decided I needed a greater challenge and to actually find a hot yoga studio. I was absolutely thrilled when Moksha yoga opened up in Barrie.
I Have tried a few Moksha Yoga Studios but each one is individually own and slightly different, offering different classes. I have tried Bliss studio in Barrie, also another great yoga studio. I also have tried the Bikram yoga, but myself really do enjoy a bit more of a relaxed environment when I am doing yoga. Bikram yoga was a fantastic challenge though! I also tried hot yoga at good life but still no Moksha yoga. I also do Hot yoga at the Women’s Fitness Club that I work at and they have some fantastic Yoga Instructors, fun classes, and their room gets nice and hot just the way I like it! I missed an ooportunity to try aerial yoga and am hoping to try it soon, it looks like quite a challenge!
Moksha yoga Barrie is one of my favourite places to be! You can check out their website http://barrie.mokshayoga.ca/ to find out what kind of class is on before you go. This is very important because each class can be different and there are multiple different yoga classes. One day you may need a relaxation yoga, a reduce heat class, a hatha yoga, or a hatha flow yoga class for a challenge (it is also known as power yoga), and ashtanga for a pro or maybe you like a mix class!
I have tried many different classes and I really do like the 75 minute mix classes! Everyday is different depending on your food intake, water intake, sleep, stress so always go in with out judgment, listen to your body, enjoy your class and just breath…. ahhhhh
What is Yoga .. actually.. Yoga is an ancient practice from India, a discipline for the mind, body & soul. Yoga is used to help you connect your mind, body and soul through practice & meditation. to It teaches you to respect all things and people, to live with out judgement, to be the positive change you want to see and to worship the divine within you and all others. To practice yoga is to attain spiritual enlightenment and reach spiritual tranquility.
